Borrow the staff and Costal Kaleidoscope at Blåvandshuk Lighthouse
Listen to the rhythm of the landscape as you walk along the coast, and watch shells, seaweed and stones form new patterns.
The walking stick and Kaleidoscope are available to borrow from Blåvand Lighthouse. You can book the walking stick for one day at a time. It must be collected and returned during the lighthouse’s opening hours, 10.00–17.00.
Book it via Billetexpressen here. Staff at Blåvand Lighthouse will ask for identification when you borrow the staff.
How to do it
The staff works with a mobile phone. Download the Voice Monitor Recorder MOREC app and configure the settings as shown in the image below. Start the app and connect your mobile phone to the accompanying headphones (Bose Headphones) via Bluetooth.
After the walk, the audio recording can be exported and emailed to yourself. You are also welcome to send it to Project Manager Anna Ankerstjerne at aann@varde.dk.

Varde Municipality is collecting recordings made using David Garcia’s walking staff, and hikers are invited to contribute to a sound map of the tides. Everyone is encouraged to contribute recordings using the staff.
