Walking with the Waves encourages everyone to walk to the sounds of the tidal landscape. Listen to the rhythms of the tides as you walk with your own version of David Garcia’s walking staff, which records and live‑transmits sounds from the tidal flats, the shoreline, the marshes, and the plantations.

The recording was made for David Garcia’s performance project with walking communities in Varde Municipality, organised by DGI Sydvest.

We Collect Sounds 

Varde Municipality is collecting recordings from David Garcia and from all walkers who wish to contribute to a sonic mapping of the tidal landscape. Everyone is encouraged to submit recordings made using the walking staff. Participation is anonymous. Please send your recording, along with the date, time, and location of the recording, to the project manager, Anna Ankerstjerne at aann@varde.dk.
